People here in the Tampa Bay area have dodged another bullet, as Hurricane Katrina has moved further west in the Gulf of Mexico. She has become a dangerous Category 3 hurricane packing winds of 115 mph. Key West was slammed with 10 inches of torrential rain Friday and Dry Tortugas National Park saw 97 mph wind gusts.
Where Katrina makes landfall on Monday is now uncertain. Gulf coast states like the western Florida panhandle, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi are all possible targets. Unfortunately some lives and property will be claimed by this powerful storm.

i have been watching CNN and Fox news for updates on the hurricane. What devastation, 80% of New Orleans is covered with water! I'm brought to tears to think that many people are left with nothing. What a sad day..how do you move on with life when a disaster like this happens, when all you have is the clothes on your back, when loved ones are missing. One particular story that touched my heart was of the husband who tried to hold onto his wife on the roof of their house...unfortunately she was swept away and now it's just the husband and two small kids. Let's just continue to pray that no more lives will be taken. I'm waiting for the rainbow after the storm.
Moon Moon where art thou? we all miss you, get back online soon soon.
Thank you, skipping heart! I've been out in Arizona on a job interview with a national radio network, but for now I'm back here in Florida. Stay tuned for further details. (film at 11)
