Tell us about your pet!

I'm currently petless, but the last pet I had was Samson. He was a brown and white Shih-Tzu/Pekingese combination. He had long hair, the classic pug nose and an underbite. Weighed all of 15 pounds soaking wet, but thought he ruled the neighborhood. He liked to chase cats until the day he cornered one. Let's just say it made him think twice before chasing cats!

Overused Words

I have noticed that there are certain words that people use for lack of anything better to say. Superlative exclamtions like "Absolutely" or "Exactly" should be banished for every one's vernacular vocabulary for at least 180 days or six months...whichever comes first. Your turn! Post whatever comes to mind. Get past the thought stage...blog about it!

Who is the real "King" of Rock'n'Roll?

I know every body says Elvis is, and maybe he was King for his time period. However, the man who is the embodiment of Rock'n'Roll, is still emulated today and yet unsurpassed in creativity, ingenuity and ability is none other than Jimi Hendrix! So what do you think?!?!

Cruisin' over Clearwater Beach! Posted by Hello

So...how good is your penmanship?

Seems I have gone through stages of penmanship... some good, some bad. When I first learn cursive writing, we used long colorful quill pens, the ones you actually dipped in ink! They were called "Quill" pens, however in the 60's the handle was plastic, not a feather. At the beginning I was meticulous about my penmanship, which was actually graded like any other subject. As I grew older and hastier, my penmanship worsened. So much so, that in the 5th grade I received an "F" in handwriting one semester! Well... my mother made me practice cursive writing every night after my homework was done. By sheer determintaion (and desperation), I aced the course at the end of the next semester! Today, my penmanship can be impressive, if I desire. There are those times that call for grace and flair in your signature. But many times I write in such haste, that it takes a linguist trained in hieroglyphics to determine what I scribbled on the page! Write On!!?

Things you would do if you were fearless

Wow! I'm always talking about the exhilirating things that I'd like to do, but it's just that...talk! If I were indeed fearless I would try parasailing, sky diving, hang gliding, wind surfing, traction kiting, hot-air ballooning, white water rafting, and flying in an ultralight. Recently however I did get to fly in a helicopter and a small plane over Clearwater Beach! Pretty cool! Check it out at http://www.moonpics.blogspot.com/

Breakfast: Yes or No?

Definitely Yes for me! There was a time in my life when I followed the habits of others and went without it. But it only makes sense for me, in my profession, and with my extremely early hours, to eat breakfast. It usually consists of fruit, yogurt and cereal...just something to stabilize my blood sugar. Of course I start each weekday with a cup of coffee, made from whole beans...French roast, French press, black and strong...just like me! Funny thing is, rarely do I drink coffee on the weekends.

What's your favorite song on the radio?

This should be an easy, purely subjective one. You probably have many but you only need to mention one. Personally, I couldn't limit myself to one. I ended up with a Top 5 List (imagine that)! Notice I have two "left coast" songs and two "groovy" songs in my countdown. Check out the comments and leave your fave!

Communication

An exceedingly wise woman
author and mother of three
while consumed in conversation shared this thought with me…
“Writing is like giving birth.”
She oughta know...

And so when I write…

I give birth to interesting ideas
imparting imagery to experience
granting life to a legacy
that will obviously outlive me
become exactly what I want it to be
say exactly what I want it to say
perpetuate my take
my slant
a verbal implant.

Words of dignity…
instead of vanity...
it’s my therapy…
keeps my sanity…
that's what writing does for me.

We all have a unique perspective
only you can express your view
communication is the objective
nobody sees the world quite like you do.
